A pool specialist, not just a pool guy
Most pool problems start at the equipment pad: the pump, filter, valves, plumbing, heater and the wiring that runs them. That's where we spend most of our time. We diagnose what's actually wrong instead of guessing, and we tell you plainly what it needs.
Sometimes it's a quick fix, like a failed seal or a stuck valve. Sometimes a part is past saving and replacing it makes more sense. Either way you'll know your options before the work starts, and the person you talk to on the phone is the person who shows up to fix it.

Troubleshooting
What's your pool doing?
Here's what the most common symptoms usually point to. Every pool is different, so we always confirm the cause before we fix anything.
SymptomPump hums but won't start
Usually meansOften a failed capacitor, seized motor bearings or something jamming the impeller. Sometimes it's a quick fix. On an older pump, it may be time for a new variable-speed pump.
SymptomPump is loud or screeching
Usually meansWorn motor bearings. A pump that's running dry or sucking air can also get loud. Don't let it run like that for long.
SymptomWater leaking at the equipment pad
Usually meansA worn pump shaft seal, a cracked union or fitting, or a leaking valve. Small leaks get bigger, and water dripping on a motor shortens its life.
SymptomWeak flow or the pump keeps losing prime
Usually meansFull baskets, a clogged impeller, an air leak on the suction side (like a worn lid O-ring or valve), or low water level.
SymptomFilter pressure keeps climbing
Usually meansA dirty or worn-out filter, or a restriction after the filter. If cleaning doesn't bring it down, the filter may need replacing.
SymptomBreaker keeps tripping
Usually meansA motor shorting out, a wiring problem or water where it shouldn't be. Leave it off and call us.
SymptomHeater or heat pump won't heat
Usually meansLow water flow, a flow switch, a sensor or a control board, and we fix all of those. If it turns out to be a refrigerant or gas burner problem, we'll let you know and go over your options, including a new unit if that makes more sense.
