Most hot tub problems live in the cabinet

Under the side panel of a hot tub is a control pack (the brain, with the heater built in), one or more pumps, and the plumbing that feeds the jets. When a tub stops heating or won't turn on, the cause is usually one of those parts, and some problems look alike from the outside.

We open it up, test the parts, and tell you what's actually wrong. Sometimes it's a sensor or a part. Sometimes an older tub needs a new control pack and pump to come back to life, like this Brooksville hot tub we brought back.

  1. 01

    Control pack

The brain of the tub. It runs the pumps, lights and heater, and it's where most error codes come from. The heater is usually built into it.

  2. 02

    Pumps

Jet pumps and, on many tubs, a small circulation pump. Seals leak and motors wear out.

  3. 03

    Plumbing & jets

Pipes, unions and jet bodies. Leaks under the cabinet usually start here or at a pump.

How it works

Three simple steps

  1. Call or send the form

Tell us the make of your tub and what it's doing. If there's an error code, write it down.

  2. Diagnosis

We test the control pack, heater and pumps to find the cause, then go over the fix.

  3. Back in hot water

Parts replaced, tub tested and running.

Questions

Hot Tub & Spa Repair FAQ

Do you repair stand-alone hot tubs?
Yes. We repair stand-alone (portable) hot tubs as well as spas attached to in-ground pools.
Should I drain my hot tub before you diagnose it?
No, please keep it filled. To find the problem, we need to run the tub, and the heater, pumps and sensors can't be tested safely without water. If you've already drained it, refill it to the normal level before your appointment. If it's leaking and won't hold water, tell us when you call and we'll plan around it.
My hot tub shows an error code. What should I do?
Write the code down and turn the tub off at the breaker if it keeps tripping. Many codes point to a flow, heater or sensor problem. Tell us the code when you call and we'll know where to start.
Is it worth repairing an older hot tub?
Often, yes. A new control pack and pump can bring an older tub back for far less than a new one. If the shell or frame is failing, we'll tell you honestly.
